Top Dressing

Once upon a time Top Dressing only used to be carried out by Greenkeepers but as time moves on more of us Lawn Lovers are now following suit and choosing to Top Dress our Lawns at home.

By Top Dressing our Lawns or Sports Turf we can improve the soil which in turn improves the quality of Grass. After a long summer of kids, pets, parties and sport it’s not just you that feels exhausted but your Lawn does too! If the quality of soil in your Lawn is substandard then your grass will struggle to recover.

Top Dressing will not only help repair tired, worn looking or fill in any uneven surfaces on Lawns & Sports Turf but will also encourage a Uniformed appearance when using the same grass seed throughout your Lawn – particularly if you are using Shire Lawns to Overseed at regular intervals.

At Shire Lawns we use Blended Top Soil that combines both Soil & Sand and following a Top Dressing Application we would add a Spring or Autumn Feed depending on time of year Top Dressing has been carried out.
